When you get married in Scotland, it is traditional to have one in your wedding reception. However, before rushing to make the first group that is should take some time to think seriously about the kind of band that you really want – and what kind of band that would be better for your marriage.

In Scotland, there are essentially four types of bands you can choose for your wedding. Covers Pop, Ceilidh, Jazz, and tribute bands. Each group has its advantages and disadvantages. So let's look at each type in greater detail.
Pop Cover bands
These are the types normal wedding bands in Scotland and play songs and recorded by other artists made famous. Most cover bands that specialize in weddings, will play a big number of hits on the right for years 1960 to current hits. This could be Abba, Robbie Williams, Take That, Slade, Queen – or anyone else you might think. So if you're a fan of particular band, then a tribute band can be the ideal choice for you. Tribute Bands usually only two groups of forty-five minutes, so if you have a tribute band, then you may have to hire another cover band or DJ for the last two hours of receiving your wedding.
These are the main types of groups that are popular for weddings in Scotland. What band you choose will depend on the type of music you like and, equally important, the type of band you think your family and guests will love.

The best way to know if your choice is acceptable to most are invited to do a little research. For example, if you really want a certain type of tape, then ask your friends and family what they think. Like What type of music? Do you get to dance music and such?
